Edmond is an important suburban city in Oklahoma County located in the central part of the state.  It is the sixth largest city in the state covering a total area of 227.8 km²(87.9 mi²) of which 220.5 km² (85.1 mi²) comprises of land and 7.3 km² (2.8 mi²) of it (3.19%) is water. Average winter temperature hovers around 36 F while the average summer temperature is about 82 F. It receives an average annual rainfall of 31 inches.
